The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has called for the full implementation of visa regimes that make Africa a “common home for all Africans,” as part of a renewed push toward pan-African unity and cooperation.
Speaking at the orientation of Ghana’s newly appointed envoys in Accra on Monday, September 1, 2025, the Ga Mantse stressed the importance of reciprocal arrangements in immigration policies.
“Let us fully implement visa regimes that will make Africa a more common home for all Africans. This is an indispensable part of our pan-African agenda,” he said.
“We must insist on reciprocal agreements, particularly in the areas of immigration requirements, timelines, and the fees and charges embassies impose when processing visas.”
Turning to education, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II urged the government to adopt a more efficient and sustainable system for the payment of school fees for government-sponsored students abroad, noting that many currently face financial difficulties.
The Ga Mantse also encouraged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give greater attention to cultural diplomacy, involving traditional leaders in showcasing Ghana’s heritage to the world.
He said cultural exchanges could serve as a powerful tool to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral relations.
