The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has warned of imminent legal action against media outlets accused of نشرing false claims about the remuneration of its Director-General, Alhaji Mohammed Abdul-Salam.

In a strongly worded statement released on April 10, the Authority dismissed reports alleging that the Director-General had increased his salary from GHS 38,000 to GHS 70,000, describing the claims as “entirely false.”
Management further rejected circulating figures suggesting that the Director-General receives between $108,000 and $228,000 annually as rent allowance, stating that such reports are baseless.
Clarifying the situation, the Authority noted that no salary increments have been implemented, stressing that any adjustments would follow due process. “No increment has therefore been effected,” the statement said.
The NLA revealed that the Director-General has instructed his legal team to pursue action against media houses responsible for spreading the allegations.
Management concluded by calling on the public to ignore the misinformation and continue to trust in the integrity of the Authority’s leadership.
