An Adentan Circuit Court has remanded building contractor Carlos Kwabena Allston into police custody following allegations of trespass and threatening behavior.
Allston is accused of unlawfully entering the property of businessman Wise Roland Horgli and threatening to cause him harm. The accused has denied the charges and is scheduled to reappear in court on January 27, 2026.
Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo told the court that the complainant, Mr. Horgli, is a businessman based in Accra, while Allston resides in East Legon.
Court documents reveal that in 2021, Horgli purchased a four-unit apartment from Allston for US$450,000, a payment which was reportedly made in full. Following the sale, Horgli requested that Allston vacate one of the units he was occupying to allow for renovation works.
Prosecution alleges that in 2025, Allston informed Horgli of his intention to return to the property to carry out construction, a request Horgli refused. The accused allegedly responded by threatening to forcibly enter the property, destroy parts of it, and erect a new structure without consent.
On December 30, 2025, Allston allegedly visited the premises unannounced. Despite warnings from Horgli to stay away, the accused is said to have refused to comply, prompting the complaint that led to his arrest on January 14, 2026.
In a caution statement recorded during the investigation, Allston admitted to selling the property and visiting the premises on December 30, claiming he went there to inspect his scaffolding.
The case has raised concerns about property disputes and the conduct of contractors who fail to honor legal agreements, as the court continues to examine the allegations against Allston.
