Joseph Cudjoe, the Minister for Public Enterprises and a key member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 campaign team, has assured bloggers, online writers, and influencers of significant growth in their industry should Bawumia win the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a meeting with the Ghana Bloggers Association, led by its president Andre Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah (Attractive Mustapha), as well as other digital content creators, Cudjoe emphasized that Bawumia’s digitalization agenda will prioritize the development of the content creation industry.
The event, held in Accra at Oak Plaza Hotel, brought together major players in the digital content space to discuss the future of the industry under Bawumia’s leadership.
“We, in the Bawumia team, led by the presidential candidate himself, thought of taking his message to the youth driving the digitalized economy. This is why we’re here today to engage with you, the practitioners and industry players,” Cudjoe stated.
He further disclosed that a Bawumia administration plans to appoint a digital officer at the presidency, who would focus on policy formation and the growth of the industry. “This engagement with bloggers and influencers is part of our economic advisory strategy,” he added.
Highlighting the potential for job creation, Cudjoe noted, “As content creation increases, so will the demand for employment opportunities.
We foresee standardization, policy regulations, and the creation of wealth through monetization.”
According to the minister, one of Bawumia’s key priorities is ensuring that the content produced by Ghanaian creators is of high quality and meets global standards. “Monetization and standardization are key issues in the industry. It’s important that the content you create is of a quality that can be traded globally. I’m passionate about making sure we are able to sell what we produce,” Cudjoe stated.
The Vice President’s campaign is heavily focused on the digital transformation of Ghana’s economy, with a vision to harness the potential of the country’s young creatives, bloggers, and influencers to drive economic growth.
