Ghanaian businessman and gold dealer Peter Nana Kwadwo Ofosu Ayeh has been arrested and arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court in connection with an alleged $160,000 gold fraud case.

Ofosu Ayeh appeared before the court over allegations linked to a gold transaction involving one kilogramme of gold.
The court subsequently granted him bail in the sum of GH¢100,000, with three sureties, all of whom must be residents of Accra.
As part of the bail conditions, the court ordered Ofosu Ayeh to deposit his passport and National ID card with the court registry.
The conditions effectively restrict his ability to travel outside the country while the case is pending.
Following his court appearance, Ofosu Ayeh was seen being escorted from the Accra Circuit Court premises by two police officers before getting into a vehicle.
Footage of the incident has since circulated on social media, attracting attention to the ongoing case involving the businessman and gold dealer.
The precise details of the alleged fraud and the circumstances surrounding the $160,000 transaction have not been fully disclosed in the available court proceedings.
The case comes amid continued concerns over disputes and alleged fraudulent transactions within Ghana’s gold trading sector, where high-value deals are common.
Ofosu Ayeh has not been convicted of the alleged offence, and the allegations remain subject to determination by the court.
The case has been adjourned to November 2, 2026, when proceedings are expected to continue.
