The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has criticised the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the party of deception and urging opposition supporters to remain united ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at a gathering of party sympathisers in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, the Effutu MP used the platform to rally grassroots members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), calling for cohesion, discipline, and renewed commitment as the party prepares for future political contests.
Afenyo-Markin questioned the performance of the governing NDC, arguing that the party had failed to live up to the expectations and promises made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign period.
“We should ask ourselves, is the NDC delivering on its promises? The NDC is a complete scam. They are 419 people. They come to you and lie to you and when you give them power, they do nothing.
“But they can only achieve that if we ourselves are divided. So today, in Sefwi-Wiawso, I speak to the entire region on behalf of the flagbearer, on behalf of Parliament, on behalf of all the elders of the party and plead with you to unite.”
The Minority Leader’s comments also touched on the need for vigilance among supporters, encouraging them to critically assess the performance of the ruling government and remain actively engaged in political discussions at the community level.
