The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has denied allegations circulating on social media claiming the agency purchased laptops at inflated prices and awarded an office renovation contract through sole sourcing.

In a statement issued by Media Relations Officer, Prince Kwame Minka, the Board described the claims as false and misleading, stressing that proper procedures were followed in all procurement processes.
According to the statement, GoldBod took notice of the allegations being spread online and deemed it necessary to set the record straight to prevent misinformation.
One of the claims suggested that GoldBod had awarded an office renovation contract worth GHS11 million to a company owned by Stan Dogbe through sole sourcing. However, the Board categorically denied the claim.
GoldBod explained that after its establishment in April 2025, it undertook a comprehensive recruitment exercise to strengthen the workforce of the defunct Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), during which more than 300 new employees were recruited.
The organisation noted that the recruitment exercise led to the introduction of a new structural organogram comprising additional directorates, departments and operational units.
As a result, the Board said it became necessary to relocate from the deteriorating PMMC office located at Diamond House in Accra to accommodate the growing workforce and operational demands.
GoldBod further urged the public to disregard false information circulating online and remain vigilant against the spread of misinformation about its activities.
