Improving economic conditions and governance reforms are emerging as key drivers of the government’s popularity, according to the December 2025 National Tracking Poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics.

The 2026 Budget, presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, received strong public approval, with 66 per cent of voters expressing satisfaction. Only 18 per cent were dissatisfied, while 16 per cent remained neutral.
This economic confidence is reflected in personal experiences, as 56 per cent of voters reported an improvement in their standard of living over the past year. Looking ahead, optimism remains high, with 70 per cent expecting further improvements in 2026.
On governance, perceptions of anti-corruption efforts have improved. Sixty per cent of respondents said the government is doing enough to fight corruption, while 56 per cent believe corruption levels are improving. Efforts to combat illegal mining (galamsey) also received cautious approval, with 56 per cent of voters saying the government is doing enough to address the problem.
The poll further highlights strong public support for constitutional reforms, including the direct election of MMDCEs, separating ministerial roles from Parliament, and extending the presidential term to five years. Demographically, Gen Z and Millennial voters now account for nearly 78 per cent of the electorate, with 64 per cent of voters expressing a preference for younger political leaders.
Party affiliation trends show the NDC leading with 41 per cent, while NPP support has declined to 26 per cent. Floating voters now make up 19 per cent of the electorate, underscoring their growing influence in Ghana’s political landscape.
