Yaw Omane Boamah, son of the late Edward Omane Boamah, has been chosen to represent Ghana at the globally acclaimed Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), marking a significant academic achievement.

A student of Ghana International School, Yaw secured his place after successfully advancing through the highly competitive 2026 MISE programme. The initiative brought together more than 600 students from over 100 schools nationwide, testing their abilities through rigorous academic challenges.
After several demanding stages, the competition was narrowed down to six finalists. Yaw Omane Boamah and fellow student Qi Wang stood out among the top performers.
Both students have also earned the honour of representing Ghana at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), with Qi Wang emerging as the overall best candidate.
In a statement shared on April 16, 2026, Ghana International School described the journey as intense and transformative, highlighting the dedication required to reach the final stages. Despite preparing for the IMO, the two students actively participated in the MISE Research Programme, which focuses on solving complex, real-world mathematical problems.
Their outstanding performance in the programme ultimately secured their qualification for ISEF, adding another milestone to their growing list of achievements.
The school also acknowledged the collective effort behind their success, expressing gratitude to the MISE Foundation, their coach Mr Sowah, and their supportive families. According to the statement, the accomplishment reflects not only individual excellence but a shared victory for everyone involved.
