President John Dramani Mahama has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of the Upper West Region for their overwhelming support and warm reception during his recent visit on Thursday.
In a Facebook post, the President acknowledged the region’s unwavering belief in his leadership and the party’s vision, especially as the NDC secured all eleven parliamentary seats in the Upper West Region during the 2024 general elections.
“My heartfelt thanks to the people of the Upper West Region! The love you showed me upon my return to your beautiful region on Thursday was overwhelming,” Mahama wrote. “Thank you for supporting me and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections. Your belief in our vision for Ghana is inspiring.”
The president emphasized that the victory comes with a clear mandate, one he and his team are fully prepared to deliver on. He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing key development issues in the region, particularly poor road infrastructure.
Mahama highlighted the launch of the GHS 14 billion ‘Big Push’ infrastructure initiative, designed to inject massive investments into critical road projects across the country. He specifically mentioned the Wa-Tumu-Bolgatanga trunk road and the Techiman-Wenchi-Bole-Wa-Hamile corridor as priority projects under the program.
“As I have stated everywhere I go, our mandate is clear, and my team and I are dedicated to fulfilling our promises,” he noted. “The NDC administration is serious about transforming your country.”
With hashtags such as #ThankYouUpperWest, #BigPushMahama, and #MahamaThePresident accompanying his post, Mahama sent a strong message of hope and transformation, promising that the NDC’s return to power would mark a new chapter of development and inclusiveness for Ghana.
