The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has refuted claims that actress Joselyn Dumas has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.
Reports of Dumas’ alleged appointment gained traction across various media platforms on March 2, 2025, suggesting that the renowned actress had secured a role in President John Mahama’s administration.
However, in an interview with Joy FM, Kwakye Ofosu clarified that while some notable figures from the creative arts sector had indeed been appointed to government positions, Joselyn Dumas was not among them.
“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm that of the rest,” he stated.
Recent appointments in the creative industry include Kafui Danku as Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, James Gardiner as Deputy Executive Secretary of the same institution, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) as Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Rex Omar as Coordinator of the Black Star Experience, and Abeiku Santana as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
