President John Dramani Mahama has taken a bold step in issuing a directive to reverse all allocations and sales of land belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, which were sold under the previous government. This decision, announced by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, ensures that the Ministry’s adjoining land at Airport Residential Area, claimed by seven organizations and individuals, will now be returned to the state and preserved for the people of Ghana.
Mr. Ablakwa expressed his profound gratitude to President Mahama for his decisive action, stating, “I am enormously grateful to President Mahama for his unwavering patriotic and decisive presidential backing.”
Ablakwa reaffirmed his commitment to protecting all properties of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, both locally and internationally, emphasizing that “under my watch as Foreign Minister, no land or property of the Ministry, located either home or abroad, would be sold. No more State Capture! For God and Country. Ghana First”.
This directive aligns with the government’s broader anti-corruption and state asset protection agenda, aimed at preventing private encroachment on government lands and ensuring that state properties remain available for national development.
He stressed that, President Mahama’s move sends a strong message that state assets will not be misappropriated or privatized unlawfully, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to good governance and accountability.
