Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe Takes Legal Action Against Neat FM’s Adakabre Over False Claims

Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) at the Presidency, Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, has taken strong action against alleged false statements made by Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Neat FM.

Through his legal representatives, R.O. Solomon Consulting, Dogbe has formally demanded an immediate retraction and public apology from the journalist and the radio station.

The controversy stems from a broadcast on Neat FM 100.9 MHz, in which Frimpong Manso alleged that Dogbe and Callistus Mahama had hijacked presidential appointment processes without the knowledge of President John Dramani Mahama.

The broadcast also suggested that members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were displeased and seeking ways to “beat them.”

In a strongly worded letter addressed to Frimpong Manso, Dogbe’s lawyers refuted these claims, stating that their client has not altered any appointment letters and is not involved in any activities that would tarnish the President’s image. The legal team described the allegations as “pure fabrications” intended to cause public disaffection and damage Dogbe’s reputation.

In a separate statement, Dogbe condemned what he described as “mercenary journalism” and “character assassination for financial gain.” While acknowledging that he had previously ignored such actions, he declared that he would no longer tolerate the spread of misinformation by journalists who seek personal or financial benefits at the expense of truth and journalistic integrity.

“I may have, in the past, allowed mercenary journalists and their yellow journalism to hold sway, but not anymore,” Dogbe stated.

He further emphasized that such acts are a form of corruption and should not be allowed to persist in Ghanaian media.

Dogbe’s lawyers have demanded an urgent retraction and apology, making it clear that publishing falsehoods without verifying facts is a violation of journalistic ethics. Failure to comply could lead to legal action, as Dogbe is determined to protect his reputation from unfounded attacks.

As of now, neither Adakabre Frimpong Manso nor Neat FM has issued a response to the legal demands.
