Edmond Kombat has been appointed the new Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery.
The seasoned lawyer, entrepreneur, and energy expert, steps in at a crucial time for the refinery, which has faced operational and financial headwinds in recent years.
Kombat’s extensive experience in the oil and energy sector, coupled with his strong leadership background, makes him a strategic choice to lead TOR’s revitalization. He is expected to focus on restructuring and modernizing the refinery’s operations, as well as forging partnerships with the private sector to secure investment and expertise.
“I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading TOR at this critical juncture,” said Kombat. “I am confident that, working together with the dedicated team at TOR, we can restore the refinery to its former glory and ensure it plays a vital role in meeting Ghana’s energy needs.”
Kombat’s impressive resume includes a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Ghana, an LL.B from GIMPA Faculty of Law, and BL and QCL qualifications from the Ghana School of Law.
He is also the Founder and Chairman of the Edkom Group of Companies and Co-Founder and Director of Research and Finance at the Institute for Energy Security (IES).
