The family of former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has expressed concern over their safety following the release on bail of suspects linked to a recent shooting incident at Kwabenya.

An aunt of the former legislator, Nana Pomaa Nyira, is urging the police, the judiciary, and other relevant authorities to ensure a full and fair investigation into the matter, insisting that justice must not be compromised.
According to her, the decision to grant bail to individuals arrested in connection with the incident has heightened fear among relatives and people close to the family. She said members of the family who had been involved in ongoing funeral-related arrangements feel particularly exposed following the suspects’ release.
Speaking to the media, she appealed for stronger action from law enforcement, stressing that the seriousness of the case required close attention and thorough follow-up by investigators.
She also referenced reports suggesting that a significant number of bullets were fired during the incident, describing the situation as one that raises troubling questions that must be addressed by investigators.
The aunt further insisted that the family would continue to call for accountability as the case progresses, adding that they are committed to ensuring that the truth surrounding the shooting is fully established.
The incident occurred on June 21 at a property associated with Israel Kwadwo Safo in Kwabenya, an area of Accra, and is believed to stem from long-standing tensions linked to leadership and succession issues within the Kristo Asafo Mission following the death of its founder, Kwadwo Safo.
Sarah Adwoa Safo has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the incident, stating that she was present at the location as a family member and was not involved in any armed confrontation.
Meanwhile, the suspects, including Israel Kwadwo Safo, are currently on bail as police continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
