President John Dramani Mahama has paid tribute to fathers across Ghana and beyond as the world marked Father’s Day, urging men to remain dedicated to nurturing and raising the next generation of leaders, innovators and responsible citizens.

In a brief but inspiring message shared to commemorate the occasion, the President acknowledged the vital role fathers play in shaping families and society. He encouraged men to continue investing in the growth and development of their children.
“Happy Father’s Day to all men. Let’s continue to build giants!” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Though short, the message carried a strong call to action, highlighting the importance of fatherhood in national development and the building of a better future.
Father’s Day, celebrated annually in many countries around the world, honours fathers and father figures for their contributions to their families and communities. The day also provides an opportunity to recognise the sacrifices, guidance and support men offer in raising children and shaping their futures.
Across Ghana, families marked the occasion with church services, family gatherings and social media tributes dedicated to fathers and father figures. Many Ghanaians used the day to express appreciation to men who have played significant roles in their lives, including biological fathers, guardians, mentors and role models.
President Mahama’s message adds to the broader national reflection on the importance of strong family values and the role of fathers in fostering a responsible and forward-looking society.
