The Amasaman Circuit Court has handed down 17-year jail terms to two men who admitted to carrying out a violent robbery attack on two individuals at Agbazo, near the Golden Exotic Farm in Accra.
The convicts, Lawrence Fumato, also known as Rasta, aged 28, and Daniel Dzoka, alias Alkaline, aged 20, pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and Robbery, offences that fall under Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). Their sentences will run concurrently.
According to a police statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, the two men robbed their victims on November 12, 2025, attacking them with a pair of scissors. They made away with a Royal 150 motorbike, Samsung phone, Tecno Spark 8 device, an itel keypad phone, and GH¢4,000.
An intelligence-driven police operation led to their arrest on November 17, 2025, in the same community.
The Accra Regional Police Command thanked residents for their support and encouraged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities via the emergency numbers 18555 and 191.
