Mfantsipim School has cemented its dominance in Ghana’s academic arena by winning the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), successfully defending the title it claimed in 2024.
In a thrilling contest that kept the packed NEC Auditorium at the University of Cape Coast on edge, the defending champions — affectionately known as Kwabotwe or Botwe — triumphed with 55 points, outpacing St. Augustine’s College (Augusco), which scored 42 points, and Opoku Ware School (OWASS), which finished with 29 points.
Presided over by the celebrated quiz mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the grand finale delivered intense moments of suspense and brilliance across all five rounds.
When the final bell rang, jubilation erupted among the Mfantsipim supporters, who chanted proudly, “God is a MOBA!” — a nod to the school’s alumni association.
This latest triumph marks Mfantsipim’s fourth NSMQ title, reinforcing its reputation as one of Ghana’s foremost powerhouses in science and mathematics education.
