President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday visited the construction site of the new Western Regional Hospital at Apemanim in the Ahanta West District, assuring residents that funds will be made available to complete the project within 18 months.
The hospital project, which commenced in 2022, was abandoned in 2023, leaving the structure incomplete.
Once completed, the five-storey, 250-bed facility will feature state-of-the-art surgical units, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a blood bank, modern laboratories and pharmacies, as well as children’s, maternity, female and male medical and surgical wards.
President Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the country, emphasizing that the completion of the Western Regional Hospital remains a top priority under his vision to “reset Ghana.”
