Leader and Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, has predicted that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) could lose the 2028 general elections.
Addressing his congregation on Sunday, September 28, the outspoken preacher cautioned the NDC not to place its hopes on Ghana’s perceived eight-year governance cycle, stressing that President John Dramani Mahama’s second term may not automatically translate into another victory.
“I have seen in the spiritual realm that the NDC’s power has dropped. The spirit backing the NDC has declined, the force and power behind the party has diminished, and it is sinking,” Rev. Owusu Bempah declared.
He further warned that the party must rekindle its “spiritual power” if it intends to govern beyond Mahama’s administration. “If they want to rule for two consecutive terms, they must rekindle their power. Otherwise, after President John Mahama’s tenure, they will lose power in 2028,” he added.
Rev. Owusu Bempah noted that the NDC risks being disappointed if it assumes victory in 2028 is guaranteed by political tradition. “They think that any political party that comes to power must enjoy two consecutive terms. But if the NDC follows this pattern, they will be disappointed,” he cautioned.
His prophecy comes at a time when recent surveys by IMANI Africa and Global InfoAnalytics indicate a decline in President Mahama’s approval ratings, raising fresh debates about the governing party’s future prospects.
