‘Miracles Aboagye’ Found In A Stollen Car

The potential crimes list of Dennis Edward ‘Miracles’ Aboagye, Spokesperson for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s 2028 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, now includes suspected carjacking that he must explain.

Even though the garrulous Aboagye has carefully tucked this new crime tinge away from the eyes of the public eye, the New Republic has been finding out that during his most recent report to the offices of the Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO) in Accra, Aboagye had pulled up in a vehicle that turned out to be a stolen car on the wanted list of EOCO.

Consequently, the car was impounded by EOCO, after closer inspection confirmed that the car is indeed a stolen vehicle that EOCO has long been looking for.

The New Republic can report on authority that as a result of the impoundment, Miracles returned home after he reported to the EOCO office in a hired taxi cab, even though he had driven to EOCO in the posh Ford F150 supercar.

The development adds another layer of potential crime that Miracles Aboagye will now have to answer for. It is not clear if the car had been nicked in a gangland style carjack and then smuggled down from abroad to Miracles as spoil of robbery, but sources at EOCO have since been confirming that indeed the Ford F150 has been held by EOCO.

As a result of the lawful impoundment of Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye’s stolen car, the embattled former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), who is already the main person of interest in an investigation into the theft and misappropriation of Ghc55million through IMCoD, was constrained to hail a cab home, leaving the stolen car that he had cruised in to the premises of EOCO behind.

Interestingly, Mr. Aboagye, who has a reputation for updating his followers on social media about new tit bits in the criminal investigation that he is subject of, somehow has been silent on this aspect of the rap sheet that is building up against him.

Yesterday on his Facebook timeline, Miracles attempted a red herring, posting in prominent font sizes, that fuel prices have increased.

“This Morning, Goil is selling Diesel for Ghc19.55 and Super for Ghc15.99. The NDC inherited Diesel at 15 and Super at 14.99. We just wasted our time!!!”

This comment was posted at least 24 hours after Mr. Aboagye had driven to the EOCO Office in the Ford F150 and returned home in a taxi cab without the Ford because the Ford turned out to be a stolen car.

However, selfsame Miracles Aboagye did not even as much as hint on the stolen car matter. It would appear that the suspected thief, wants this aspect of his potential crimes safely tucked away from the public eye. Unbeknownst to him however, the New Republic is well informed about the issue.

Meanwhile, yesterday, the High Court in Accra confirmed an order freezing five bank accounts and four landed properties belonging to Miracles, in connection to the Ghc55million that cannot be accounted for from his stewardship as the immediate past Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation.

The freeze order, which also covers accounts and assets linked to the former accountant of IMCCoD, Gerald Appiah, and the company Hillside Piggery and Meat Processing Limited, was granted on an application filed by EOCO.

The four landed properties affected reportedly comprise two properties in the Eastern Region a parcel of land and a house and two properties in the Greater Accra Region, including residential apartments and a residential property. The five bank accounts covered under the order also belong to Mr Aboagye.

Some specificity that has become available about the houses indicate the properties include a massive mansion in Larteh Akuapem, three houses, all four bedroom villas at ajiringanor, a suburb of one of Accra’s choice upscale residential areas, East Legon, and a massive mansion on the Spintex Road.

The five bank accounts involved, said to be variously stashed with cedis, dollars, pound sterling and Euros, are described as Pereknal and corporate bank accounts.

It would be recalled that in mid-July 2026, Immigration officers executed an EOCO-issued “Stop Order” at the Kotoka International Airport, detaining Aboagye immediately upon his return to Ghana from abroad.

The arrest had provoked protest within his party, the opposition NPP which had quickly started claiming that the government was persecuting the suspect who is also the Spokesperson for the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

However, it soon emerged that Aboagye’s arrest was in connection to the suspected theft and embezzlement of Ghc55million during his tenure as the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).

He was subsequently granted bail set at an immense GH¢50 million with three sureties.

Aboagye has fiercely denied any financial misconduct or criminal wrongdoing. He has described the state’s actions as a “false narrative” calculated purely to intimidate him.

Following his initial release from custody, he took to social media to state that he was unbroken and ready to fight the allegations.

He publicly insisted that EOCO investigators never explicitly raised the specific GH¢55 million figure during his interrogation sessions.

However, that claim has since been rebutted by Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem Sai, who has said that Miracles was specifically made aware that he was under investigation for the suspected theft and embezzlement of the Ghc55million.
