Ghana’s Gold Board has suspended the gold trading licence of Dominic Bonsu Ventures with immediate effect, following alleged breaches of licence conditions and trading directives issued under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140).
In a statement issued by its Compliance Directorate on Friday July 24, 2026, GoldBod said it had determined that the company had violated the terms of its licence and regulatory directives governing gold trading in Ghana.
The regulator also announced that it is seeking the proprietor of Dominic Bonsu Ventures in connection with ongoing enforcement proceedings.
The statement also noted that the High Court in Accra, acting on an application by GoldBod, issued a Bench Warrant for the proprietor’s arrest to facilitate enforcement action and related criminal proceedings.
The suspension bars Dominic Bonsu Ventures from engaging in the purchase, sale, aggregation, transportation or any other transaction involving gold with immediate effect.
The regulator further directed all licensed gold buyers, aggregators, self-financing aggregators and miners to immediately cease all commercial dealings with the company until further notice.
GoldBod warned that any individual or organisation found facilitating or engaging in gold transactions with Dominic Bonsu Ventures during the suspension period would be subject to enforcement and regulatory sanctions under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140).
“The Ghana Gold Board remains committed to ensuring strict compliance with the laws, licence conditions and trading directives governing Ghana’s gold trading sector,” the statement said.
“We will continue to take decisive enforcement action against all persons and entities that undermine the integrity, transparency and orderly operation of the industry,” it added
The action forms part of GoldBod’s ongoing regulatory efforts to strengthen oversight of Ghana’s gold trading industry and ensure compliance with the country’s legal framework.
