Bryant University has been officially designated as the training camp for the Ghana Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Ghana Football Association confirmed the decision following FIFA inspections, which verified that the university’s facilities meet international standards.

A delegation from Bryant University, led by Bill Smith, Executive Director of Athletics, alongside Elizabeth Tanner and Dentaa Amoateng, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams. The team briefed the Ministry on preparations to host the Black Stars and presented details of the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a modern field house and wellness center tailored for elite athletic performance.
Bryant University’s strategic location near Boston played a key role in its selection, offering convenient access and logistical ease for the team throughout the tournament period. The training camp will serve as Ghana’s base as they prepare for Group L fixtures against Panama, England, and Croatia.
Beyond hosting duties, discussions also highlighted potential exchange and scholarship opportunities aimed at supporting the academic and athletic development of young Ghanaian talents. These initiatives are expected to open pathways for students to pursue higher education while advancing their sporting careers internationally.
The selection of Bryant University reflects the GFA’s commitment to providing the best possible environment for the Black Stars. With a world-class training base secured, Ghana’s preparations are steadily gaining momentum as the team looks ahead to a highly competitive and exciting 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
