Ghanaians in Liberia give President John Mahama a rousing welcome (Pictures)

Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama received a stirring welcome in Liberia when he arrived to for the inauguration of George Manneh Weah and Jewel Howard Taylor.

In photos shared on his Facebook timeline, some residents who are probably Ghanaians waved the miniature Ghana flags to welcome Mr Mahama.

The people are seen smiling, while Mr Mahama hugs some of them and also gave handshakes to others.

Weah, a former world footballer of the year, won a presidential run-off poll last month beating incumbent Vice President Joseph Boakai with more than 60% of the vote.

He will succeed Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa’s first elected female president.

His inauguration will take place on Monday, 22nd January 2018, in Monrovia, Liberia.
