Wilson Adzedekor Dismisses Criticism as Propaganda, Says He Is NDC North Tongu’s Best-Performing Deputy Communications Officer

The Deputy Communications Officer and incoming Constituency Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region, Mr Wilson Wisdom Adzedekor, has dismissed claims that he has done little for constituents, grassroots members, and party supporters since assuming office.

According to Mr Adzedekor, his record and achievements speak for themselves, describing claims by his critics as mere propaganda.

He said he had distinguished himself as one of the best-performing Deputy Constituency Communications Officers the party had had in the constituency, citing his efforts to create employment opportunities for party members over the past four years.

Mr Adzedekor described his critics as dishonest and politically naive about the local history of the party and challenged them to verify and compare his visible track record with those of his predecessors who served in the same capacity.

He said that ahead of the 2024 general elections, he actively supported the party’s campaign by communicating its policies to voters and publishing information on the government’s manifesto policies.

According to him, these efforts helped win back some disgruntled grassroots members, supporters, and floating voters, contributing to the NDC’s victory in the constituency and nationally.

The young politician further highlighted his role in restructuring the party’s communication structures and strategies, which he said contributed to the NDC recording a significant increase in its vote margin in the North Tongu Constituency during the 2024 elections.

Employment and Economic Empowerment

Mr Adzedekor said he was currently creating sustainable opportunities for drivers, traders, and women by connecting them with influential individuals, government institutions, and private organisations to support their livelihoods and businesses.

He added that he was also working with strategic local and foreign investors to create sustainable employment opportunities through agribusiness, mining and quarrying, real estate, and construction programmes for residents.

Support During the 2024 Elections

Mr Adzedekor stated that during the 2024 general elections, he used his personal resources and vehicle to transport voters to polling centres to enable them to exercise their franchise and support the NDC.

Current Employment Efforts

He said that following the NDC’s return to political power, he was actively lobbying to help residents secure employment while empowering young people and women through skills-development projects and programmes in the constituency.

Criticism and Campaign Focus

Mr Adzedekor attributed the criticism against him to his decision to contest the North Tongu Constituency Communications Officer position.

He said his campaign was focused on creating jobs and promoting entrepreneurship opportunities for young people and women, adding that his vision had attracted criticism from some individuals seeking to undermine his reputation.

Party Communication Strategy

He said that, if elected as Constituency Communications Officer, he would focus on restructuring the communication structures and strategies of the NDC within the constituency.

He stressed that the office should be used to inspire action, communicate effectively, and connect residents to practical opportunities and support.

Local Development and Grassroots Support

Mr Adzedekor pledged to connect the people of North Tongu to supportive institutions, organisations, and networks capable of contributing to local development.

He said one of his key priorities would be job creation for grassroots supporters, NDC members, and constituents, irrespective of their political affiliation.

“This is something I have already started doing,” he said.

Strategic Partnerships

He added that he would pursue strategic partnerships with government agencies, private businesses, development partners, and other organisations locally and internationally to create opportunities for residents.

Constituency Unity

Mr Adzedekor further pledged to work towards building a united and economically strong constituency through active engagement and collaboration with other elected executives.

He said his ultimate goal was to strengthen the party’s structures, empower constituents economically, create employment opportunities, and ensure that the people of North Tongu had access to institutions and networks that could support their development.
