Residents of Ayawaso West Wuogon are set to enjoy the FIFA World Cup in a lively and communal atmosphere, following a new initiative by their Member of Parliament, John Dumelo.

The MP has announced that he has covered DStv subscription costs for several television viewing centres across the constituency, ensuring that football fans can follow every moment of the tournament without financial barriers.
In addition to the subscriptions, large outdoor screens are being installed at key locations including Abelemkpe Astro Turf Park, Okponglo, Mempasem, Airport Residential Area, West Legon, and Dzorwulu. These centres are expected to serve as gathering points for residents, particularly during matches involving Ghana’s national team.
The initiative is aimed at bringing the community together while boosting morale and support for the Black Stars as they compete on the global stage.
Beyond the viewing experience, Dumelo has also partnered with local kenkey vendors to provide free meals of kenkey and fish to fans who attend the screening of Ghana’s matches. The move is expected to support small businesses while adding to the festive atmosphere.
He has encouraged constituents and Ghanaians at large to rally behind the Black Stars, expressing optimism about the team’s performance in the tournament.
The initiative has already generated excitement among residents, many of whom see it as an opportunity to enjoy the World Cup collectively while strengthening community bonds.
