The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, Doha has issued an urgent security advisory calling on all Ghanaian residents in Qatar to remain indoors and take shelter until further notice following reports of heightened regional tensions and an alleged missile incident affecting the capital.

In an official statement dated February 28, 2026, the mission warned that the evolving security environment could pose risks to civilians and urged nationals to prioritise their safety.
“Due to missile attack and its impact in Doha, please take shelter until further notice, obtain information from official sources,” the advisory stated.
The embassy further recommended that citizens avoid military installations, crowded public areas and unnecessary movement outdoors in order to reduce potential exposure to risk.
Residents were also advised to stock essential supplies such as medication and food as a precautionary measure while the situation remains fluid.
To assist nationals requiring urgent help or updated information, the mission activated emergency hotlines and an official email channel for direct communication. Authorities encouraged Ghanaians in distress to reach out via these contacts.
The security advisory comes amid escalating regional tensions that have prompted diplomatic missions across the Gulf to heighten precautionary measures for their citizens.
The embassy said it will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as necessary, stressing that the safety of Ghanaian nationals remains the top priority.
