Online court records confirm that Valentino Nortey, former New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Ghana’s Klottey Korle Constituency, is currently held in Dauphin County Prison following his arraignment in connection with a stabbing incident.

According to court documents, Nortey appeared before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged charges. The records indicate that Nortey faces attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.
The preliminary hearing for the case has been scheduled for January 26, 2026, where prosecutors are expected to present initial evidence and determine whether the case will proceed to trial.
Authorities have described the incident as a domestic dispute along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, that left a woman hospitalised. Police reports indicate the victim is currently in stable condition.
The court records also show that Nortey remains in custody at Dauphin County Prison while awaiting further proceedings, with no bail granted due to the severity of the charges.
Nortey, who lost the 2024 parliamentary election to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress, has not made a public statement regarding the allegations.
