President John Dramani Mahama is set to undertake another reshuffle involving Chief Executives of state institutions as part of efforts to strengthen leadership, improve coordination and enhance performance across government.
The impending changes form part of a broader reorganisation of the government, which has already seen a ministerial reshuffle and the dissolution of selected boards.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, the Presidency said the latest changes are intended to ensure that state institutions are effectively positioned to deliver on the government’s development agenda.
The reshuffle is expected to affect the leadership of a number of state institutions, although details of the affected institutions and the new appointments are yet to be officially announced.
The move comes as the Mahama administration continues its efforts to streamline the operations of government and improve efficiency in the delivery of public services.
The President has previously stressed the need for his appointees to demonstrate competence, accountability and commitment to achieving the objectives of his administration.
The latest reorganisation is therefore expected to bring new leadership to some state institutions while strengthening coordination between government agencies and the central administration.
