The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the timetable for its 2026 Constituency, Regional and National Executive Elections following a directive from the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC).

The timetable, announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5, follows a decision taken by the FEC at its meeting on Tuesday, August 4, to commence the process for electing new constituency, regional and national executives.

According to the party, the timetable provides a comprehensive roadmap for the conduct of its internal elections, outlining key stages of the electoral process, including the opening and filing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, balloting and elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The NDC said the release of the timetable underscores its commitment to conducting transparent, credible and well-organised internal elections in accordance with the party’s Constitution and approved Election Guidelines.

“The timetable provides a comprehensive roadmap for the conduct of the Party’s internal elections, covering the opening of nominations, filing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, balloting, and elections at the Constituency, Regional, and National levels,” the statement said.

The party urged all regional and constituency executives, aspiring candidates and members to carefully study the timetable and strictly comply with the stipulated procedures and deadlines to ensure a smooth electoral process.

“The Party therefore calls on all Regional and Constituency Executives, aspirants, and members to carefully study the attached timetable and ensure strict adherence to all stipulated timelines, procedures, and deadlines. Compliance with these schedules is essential to guarantee a smooth, orderly, and successful electoral process,” it stated.

The NDC also expressed appreciation to its members, executives and stakeholders for their continued dedication and commitment to the party’s ideals, while expressing confidence that the ongoing reorganisation process would strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

“We remain confident that the spirit of unity and collective purpose that has characterised our reorganisation process will continue to strengthen the Party as we prepare to secure an emphatic victory in the 2028 General Elections,” the statement added.

Under the timetable, nominations for constituency executive positions will open on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 a.m. and close on Thursday, September 17, at 5:00 p.m. Prospective aspirants are required to apply online through the party’s designated portal, forms.ghanandc.com.

Aspirants will have seven days to complete their nomination forms, including securing the required endorsements on Form B.

Filing of constituency nominations will take place on Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24. Nomination forms must be submitted online between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., while hard copies are to be filed at the respective constituency offices during the same period.

The party has scheduled the vetting of constituency aspirants for September 25 to September 27, with an appeals process running from September 29 to October 1 at the regional offices.

Constituency executive elections are slated for Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, at designated venues across the country’s constituencies.

For the national executive elections, nominations will open on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 a.m. and close on Wednesday, October 21, at 5:00 p.m., with applications also to be submitted online through the party’s portal.

National executive aspirants will have 14 days to complete their nomination forms before filing nominations from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9.

Nomination forms for national positions must be submitted both online and in hard copy at the NDC National Headquarters between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Vetting of national executive aspirants is scheduled to take place from Thursday, November 12, to Friday, November 13, at the party’s national headquarters.
