The Millennium City Divisional Police Command has arrested an alleged notorious land guard, Patrick Ndego, who had been on the police wanted list over his alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities targeting residents and property developers in parts of the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

According to the Divisional Police Commander, ACP Issifu Iddrisu Tanko, the suspect was arrested at about 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday following sustained intelligence-led operations after allegedly evading law enforcement for several months.
Briefing the media, ACP Tanko said Patrick Ndego is alleged to have repeatedly invaded construction sites, threatened landowners and property developers with the demolition of their buildings, discharged firearms to intimidate victims, and demanded large sums of money before allowing construction work to continue.
He said the suspect’s alleged activities created fear and panic among residents and developers, leading to numerous complaints being lodged at various police stations within the Millennium City Division.
ACP Tanko explained that the arrest followed investigations into a case reported about a month ago in which Patrick Ndego allegedly threatened a complainant with what is believed to be a locally manufactured firearm. The suspect is also alleged to have fired several warning shots at a construction site, causing workers to flee before escaping.
He noted that sustained intelligence gathering eventually led officers to the suspect’s location, resulting in his arrest.
The police commander disclosed that Patrick Ndego is currently in police custody and is being prepared for prosecution over the latest allegations, while investigations continue into other complaints filed against him.
He appealed to members of the public, particularly individuals who may have been affected by the suspect’s alleged activities, to report to the Millennium City Divisional Police Command to identify him and assist investigators with ongoing cases.
“The general public is invited to come and identify him so that all his pending cases can be processed for court,” ACP Tanko stated.
He reaffirmed the command’s determination to clamp down on land guard activities and other forms of criminality that threaten the safety of residents and hinder legitimate property development.
ACP Tanko also urged the public to volunteer credible information to support police efforts in combating land guarding, armed robbery and drug-related crimes, assuring residents that the command would continue to intensify operations to maintain law and order and protect lives and property across the division.
