Ghana’s music scene is set to shine as the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) celebrates 50 years of excellence with its highly anticipated Golden Jubilee Soiree at Labadi Beach Hotel on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The event, held under the patronage of the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, promises an evening of world-class performances, cultural displays, and industry recognition.
The gala will feature legendary highlife performers Pat Thomas and Smart Nkansah, dynamic vocalist Asabea, palmwine highlife sensation Kwanpa, and internationally renowned Grammy nominee Rocky Dawuni. Attendees can expect a night of musical brilliance, blending traditional and contemporary sounds that celebrate Ghana’s vibrant cultural landscape.
The Soiree follows the 3rd MUSIGA Biennial Conference held at the Bethel Heights Hotel, Madina, on November 28–29. The conference, which convenes music executives from across the country, focused on the theme “Driving Innovation and Sustainable Growth in the Music Industry,” highlighting strategies to strengthen the sector and support artists’ welfare.
MUSIGA President Bess Simons expressed her pride in the Union’s achievements, remarking, “This Golden Jubilee is a testament to the vision of our founders. Our mission remains to promote the welfare of musicians and elevate Ghanaian music both locally and globally.”
Since its founding in 1975, MUSIGA has played a central role in nurturing talent, advocating for artists’ rights, and developing professional standards across Ghana’s music landscape. The Golden Jubilee Soiree also includes special awards to honor contributions by individuals and organizations that have shaped the industry.
The night will gather key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and international guests. Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ghana Tourism Authority, and corporate partners such as Telecel, Stanbic Bank, Club Beer, and Quick Angels Ltd, the celebration promises to be both a tribute to the past and a statement of confidence in the future of Ghanaian music.
