Joseph Ade Coker, a former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday, May 31, at the Bank Hospital in Accra following a short illness, sources close to the family have confirmed to Ghanapoliticsonline.com.
A stalwart in the NDC and a familiar voice on national issues, Ade Coker was known for his bold, uncompromising stance on political matters. He commanded immense respect among party members, especially at the grassroots level, where his influence remained strong throughout his political journey.
Ade Coker began his tenure as the NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman in 2009 and went on to lead the region for three consecutive terms. His long-standing leadership came to an end in 2022 when he lost the position to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore during the party’s regional elections.
Beyond politics, Ade Coker also made his mark in sports administration. He once served as Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), contributing significantly to the growth of football in the country.
His death marks the end of an era for many in the political and sports communities, who saw him as a passionate leader and a dedicated public servant.
