Black Stars Management Committee chair, Dr. Randy Abbey, has extolled Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, for his contributions to Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying wins.
The Black picked up a first win in six games when they thumped Chad 5-0 on Friday in Accra before beating Madagascar 3-0 in Morocco on Monday.
Friday’s win ended a nine-month winless spell for the Black Stars, maintaining their impressive form in the World Cup qualifiers in the process.
Ghana’s lead at the top of Group I has been cut to three following Comoros’ win over Chad on Tuesday night.
However, the Black Stars still hold the advantage over their opponents with four games to go.
Several reasons have been attributed to the upturn in form, including the restructured Black Stars management team, which consists of Dr. Randy Abbey (Chairman) and Stephen Appiah (Vice Chairman).
Speaking to 3Sports about the upsurge, Dr. Randy Abbey attributed the victories to the assiduous preparation put in place by Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams.
“He was very, very instrumental.”
“He’s been very, very instrumental. If you know what he went through to ensure that the stadium was ready, all what the team required was ready; I mean, he had to. There was a day that I was with him till 2am, just to make sure that everything was available for this team. He worked extremely well. He did everything that a minister should do, even including things out of the ordinary, to ensure that everything will go on smoothly.”
“I’ll like to thank him for what he has done for the team and I hope that we’ll continue working together as a team and continue to do what we need to do for Ghana football,” he added.
