The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq., has called on African leaders to prioritize youth inclusion in governance and national development. He made the appeal during the launch of the Accelerate Africa’s Growth Conference (AAGC), held at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.
Mr. Osman Ayariga represented the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, at the prestigious event, which formed part of the African Union Day celebrations.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, the NYA boss highlighted the significance of the AAGC as a Pan-African platform that fosters multi-sectoral engagement to tackle the challenges and explore opportunities for women, youth, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The goal, he noted, is to develop practical solutions that, when implemented, will unlock the potential of these groups and economically empower them.
“I entreated the entire African continent to emulate HE John Dramani Mahama by putting the youth at the helm of affairs of their Government. Young people, when given the chance, will deliver,” Osman Ayariga wrote.
He emphasized that the youth must be recognized as strategic drivers of national development, advocating for policies that offer them meaningful and productive livelihoods.
“The future is youth,” he declared, echoing his passionate belief in the abilities of young Africans.
The AAGC is expected to serve as a rallying point for transformative ideas and policy actions that place youth and women at the heart of Africa’s development agenda.
