In a heartwarming gesture to spread Easter cheer, The Ogbenze’s Foundation, led by its Chief Executive Officer Samuel Hassan Crabbe, donated food and essential items to more than 1,000 less privileged and street children across Accra on Easter Monday.
The donation drive, which exceeded its initial target of reaching 1,000 people, saw a massive turnout of beneficiaries, prompting organizers to expand their distribution efforts. With a convoy of trucks and cars loaded with food, drinks, clothing, and other supplies, the team moved from location to location to ensure that no corner of the city was left out.
Starting from Bukom Arena, the convoy made stops at key locations including the Korle-Bu Polyclinic, Abossey Okai Mosque, Kaneshie, and Newtown, among others. The initiative aimed to ensure that deprived communities and individuals who are often overlooked during celebrations also had the opportunity to experience the joy and blessings of Easter.
Speaking to the media during the exercise, Samuel Hassan Crabbe, CEO of The Ogbenze’s Foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to national development through humanitarian outreach.
“I believe in something great for this country. Through this foundation, we want to support and uplift those in need, especially children living on the streets,” he stated.
He also revealed that the foundation’s next major outreach will take place on his birthday, June 20, where another wave of donations will be made to continue supporting vulnerable communities.
