The Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbe, has dismissed reports that the Presidency has ordered an investigation into the official travels of former President Nana Akufo-Addo. In a Facebook post, he described such claims as false and baseless.
According to Dogbe, no directive has been issued for any probe into the former president’s flights, countering reports circulated by Asaase Radio. He further criticized the media outlet, accusing it of fabricating news stories to serve its own interests.
“No investigation has been ordered by the ‘Presidency’ into travels or flights biaaaa!!!!” he wrote. “But to those crying and bleeding, if there’s a basis for the ‘Presidency’ to order any such investigation, one day, why not? Make we think!”
The initial report suggested that the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) had been tasked by the Office of the President to review Akufo-Addo’s official travels. While government officials were cited as defending the move as a transparency measure, a source close to the former president dismissed it as politically motivated.
Dogbe’s strong rebuttal now casts doubt on the credibility of these reports, fueling further debate over the alleged directive and the role of media outlets in political discourse.
