President John Dramani Mahama has made key appointments to bolster Ghana’s national security framework, demonstrating his commitment to safeguarding the nation’s stability and the well-being of its citizens.
Former Chief of Staff and Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, has been appointed as the National Security Advisor to the President. With extensive experience in governance and security matters, Mr. Bani is expected to provide strategic counsel to enhance national security operations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Abdul-Osman Razak will assume the role of National Security Coordinator, tasked with harmonizing strategies across all security agencies to ensure effective coordination and seamless operations.
Retired Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye has been appointed Director of Operations at the Presidency. Known for his operational expertise, COP Boakye will oversee the implementation of security measures to maintain operational efficiency at the highest level of governance.
Additionally, Charles Kipo has been named Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), taking charge of intelligence gathering and analysis to strengthen the country’s proactive measures against security threats.
These appointments, announced by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, reflect President Mahama’s resolve to enhance Ghana’s security infrastructure and protect its citizens.
