I have taken notice of concerns raised by the good people of the Volta Region, including chiefs and NDC members, regarding fears that the region may not receive its fair share of appointments.
For the avoidance of doubt, I want to state on record that the Volta Region will be duly considered for appointments in the new NDC administration without fail.
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President, has acknowledged our loyalty and hard work as the only region to secure over 90% of the votes for the NDC. Winning all 18 seats, including recapturing Hohoe, and reducing the NPP’s influence by 47% in the Volta Region contributed significantly to the emphatic victory in the 2024 general elections. As such, our meaningful contributions will be rewarded accordingly.
While we look forward to additional opportunities for appointments, I urge the rank and file of our party to exercise patience and manage expectations.
Rest assured, leadership will continue to work tirelessly in the interest of the party and the people of the Volta Region with regard to appointments.
