NDC Supporters Flood Tetteh Quarshie for Victory Walk Ahead of Mahama’s Inauguration

Hundreds of jubilant supporters and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have converged at the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout to kick off the party’s much-anticipated Victory Walk. The event celebrates the NDC’s decisive triumph in the 2024 general elections, which saw John Dramani Mahama emerge as President-elect.

The Victory Walk, taking place simultaneously across all 16 regions of Ghana, marks a significant moment of unity and celebration for the party. The walk in Accra is set to culminate at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, where participants will gather for speeches and further festivities.

Clad in the vibrant red, green, white, and black colors of the party, supporters could be seen chanting party slogans, waving flags, and purchasing NDC-branded paraphernalia from vendors lining the streets. The atmosphere is one of excitement and pride as the party prepares for the next chapter of its leadership.

The celebrations will reach a fever pitch on Sunday, January 5, 2025, with the Ghana Victory Concert, a mega event that promises to draw thousands to the Black Star Square. This concert serves as a prelude to the historic inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of President-elect John Dramani Mahama and his Vice President-elect, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, scheduled for January 7, 2025.

In a statement released on January 2, 2025, the NDC outlined an array of events leading up to and following the inauguration. These include a national Muslim prayer session at the National Mosque in Kanda and mosques nationwide, as well as a National Thanksgiving Service set for Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Independence Square.

The Victory Walk and accompanying activities signify the NDC’s gratitude to its supporters and readiness to govern as the party takes the reins of power once again.
