Renowned entertainer and political activist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, has added another feather to his cap as the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central. The outspoken public figure took to Facebook to reflect on his new role while expressing grave concern over allegations of corruption within the National Service Scheme (NSS).
According to A Plus, between 2020 and 2024, officials of the NSS allegedly inflated the scheme’s payroll by adding approximately 200,000 ghost names, resulting in a financial loss of GHS 68.64 billion (about $4.5 billion). He described the allegations as deeply troubling and called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
“Such misconduct is intolerable,” he wrote, emphasizing that public officials must not escape accountability. He warned that failing to address these allegations would foster a culture of impunity and embolden others to engage in even greater wrongdoing.
