Heritage Ambassador Yawuza Alhassan has called on Ghanaians to embrace unity and peace as the nation prepares for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the iconic GbeWaa Palace during the “Northern Peace Concert” on Thursday,, Ambassador Alhassan urged citizens to prioritize national cohesion and collective progress.

Addressing an audience that included the King and Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, and prominent stakeholders, Alhassan emphasized the need to celebrate diversity, promote tolerance, and foster inclusivity. The event, themed “Ti Zaa Ndi” (We Are One), served as a rallying cry for Ghanaians to rise above tribal, political, and religious divisions.

A Call for Unity and Action
In his message, Ambassador Alhassan outlined key principles to guide the nation toward a peaceful and prosperous future:

Unity in Diversity: “Our diversity is our strength; let us celebrate our differences and use them as a foundation for unity,” he said.

Peaceful Elections: He implored all citizens to ensure a peaceful electoral process, urging restraint before, during, and after the polls.
Collective Progress: “Our collective efforts will shape a better tomorrow. Let us come together with a united voice and a shared vision for Ghana’s future.”

Role of Stakeholders
Alhassan also highlighted the critical roles of various groups in fostering peace and stability:

The Youth: He cautioned young people against engaging in violence, stating, “If you cannot maintain peace, do not cause violence.”
The Media: He lauded the media for amplifying positive narratives and urged them to continue shining a light on stories that promote peace and unity.

Traditional Leadership: Paying tribute to the Yaa Naa and the Dagbon Kingdom, Alhassan expressed gratitude for their unwavering commitment to peace and national unity.
A Vision for Ghana’s Future
As Heritage Ambassador, Alhassan reaffirmed his dedication to preserving Ghana’s rich cultural heritage while promoting justice, equality, and dialogue. “Together, we can embark on this journey with hope and confidence, knowing our shared efforts will shape a better tomorrow,” he concluded.
