Blame Bank of Ghana boss for DKM mess – NDC Man

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, is blaming the Governor of Bank of Ghana for the alleged scam perpetrated by DKM Microfinance company and others in some parts of the country.

He is of the view that Mr. Henry Kofi Wampah and his outfit were aware of the operations of the micro finance companies but turned a blind eye, which has subsequently resulted in the recent mess.

“How can a whole Bank of Ghana not pay attention to these micro finance companies in the country and allow a big issue to come up before reacting to it. It beats my imagination.

“Mr. Wampah should have resigned a long time ago because the blunder that has hit this microfinance is from BoG (Bank of Ghana),” he stated.

DKM leads the tall list of microfinance companies accused of defrauding thousands of customers in several regions, especially in the Brong Ahafo region.

Some customers of microfinance company, DKM, have started packing out movable and immovable properties belonging to the company. According to the customers, they are acting in accordance with court orders that permit them to pack out and sell the properties of the company to defray the monies owed them by the company.

Speaking on Adom FMs Morning Show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Tueday, Mr. Tetteh Chaie charged the Bank of Ghana to be up and doing in the discharge of its duties especially in the field of microfinance to prevent future occurrences.

He said government officials who are unable to deliver a good job should also be held accountable for their incompetence.
