96 young Ghanaians receive 2016 Head of State Awards

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and the visiting Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward have jointly presented the Gold category of the 2016 Head of State Award to 96 young Ghanaians at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

Also known as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the award seeks to develop the potential and leadership qualities of the youth.

The gold award is the ultimate prize after successfully undertaking a number of tasks across the country in a number of years.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur congratulated the award winners and urged them to continue to be good ambassadors of their communities and Ghana as a whole.

The visiting Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward was happy with the zeal exhibited by the awardees having gone through thick and thin to achieve the gold award.
