Nana Addo can’t win 2016 polls -Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom

The 2016 presidential nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has criticized Nana Akufo-Addo for doing nothing since 2012 apart from running around saying he wants to be president.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Class News’ Naa Dedei Tettey, monitored by -GhanaPoliticsonline.com Dr Nduom said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer may have done some good work in the past but has nothing to show since 2012 to request the mandate of Ghanaians to elect him as president, so he NANA Addo and NPP cant win 2016.

Asked if the PPP stood a chance of winning the 2016 election, Dr Nduom said: “There is a clear path, I can see it…get 100 people and ask them how many people voted for NDC and you will see the result. Many people who did, they are ashamed to say that I contributed to this; so we have people who say they voted for NDC but today they have learnt that we have been disappointed: .

Then they look at NPP and say: ‘Who is leading NPP?’ Nana Akufo-Addo. Since 2012, what has Nana Akufo-Addo been doing? Since 2012, he’s been saying: ‘I want to be president, I want to be president’, that is all he’s been going round doing. All he wants is to be president and not the development of the people , He may have done some wonderful things in the past but today what can we say he has done that we can see, take a look at, and vote for him?, he cant win win 2016.

Dr Nduom disclosed that the PPP had a chance of winning the 2016 polls and will garner enough votes to push the election into the second round.

“Our own people have been putting down proper structures and so there are constituencies that we know we are a good challenge for whoever is sitting there as an MP, so again there is an opportunity there. Again, young people who have seen what we have been doing, we see opportunity in young people, so there is a path that is available, but I can’t sit here and say PPP is going to win by a landslide or the PPP is going to win first round. But the PPP is going to get a chunk of votes not just to send this election into a run-off for some other people to go and compete; we will send this thing to a run off and be one of the [parties] competing in the end for who should be elected president,” he stated.
