A prominent political figure in Ketu North, Princess Emmanuella Sam, has been arrested in connection with an alleged GH¢3.39 million car auction fraud that has left dozens of victims counting their losses.

Emmanuella Sam, who is affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and also holds a traditional title as Nana Akua Akuffo I, is accused of orchestrating a vehicle acquisition scheme that failed to deliver on its promises. According to reports, she allegedly collected large sums of money from 29 individuals under the pretext of securing 38 vehicles through a private auction arrangement.
Victims claim the deal was presented as legitimate and backed by supposed high-level connections, which convinced them to invest significant amounts. However, the expected vehicles were never delivered, and attempts to reach her reportedly proved unsuccessful for a period of time.
The case has since been brought before the Adabraka Circuit Court, where Emmanuella Sam made an appearance. The court granted her bail set at GH¢4 million, with four sureties required, as investigations into the matter continue.
The incident has triggered widespread reaction, particularly on social media, where many Ghanaians have expressed concern over rising cases of fraud and the involvement of individuals in positions of influence. Some have also called for stricter accountability measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Authorities say inquiries are ongoing to establish the full details of the alleged scheme and determine the extent of financial losses incurred by the complainants.
