President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday held high-level summit talks with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, with both leaders agreeing to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Ghana and South Korea in key areas such as climate action, digital innovation, and maritime security.

The meeting, which underscored the growing partnership between the two countries, culminated in the signing of three major agreements witnessed by the two presidents.
The agreements include a climate change cooperation accord, a Memorandum of Understanding on technology and digital innovation, and a maritime safety and security agreement between the Korea Coast Guard and the Ghana Navy.
Officials say the agreements are expected to deepen collaboration in addressing climate-related challenges, advancing digital transformation, and strengthening maritime safety and security along Ghana’s coastline.
Beyond the formal agreements, the two leaders also explored ways to expand cooperation across several strategic sectors, including economic security, agriculture, education, culture, and critical minerals.
The discussions further touched on pressing regional and global developments, with both presidents exchanging views on current geopolitical issues, including the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The summit highlights the commitment of both countries to enhance diplomatic and economic ties while promoting sustainable development and innovation.
