John Dramani Mahama has revoked the appointment of Gideon Aryeequaye as Acting Executive Secretary of Ghana’s Creative Arts Agency.

The decision, which has stirred conversations within the creative industry, brings an end to Aryeequaye’s tenure in the acting role less than a year after his appointment in March 2025.
According to a report by Joy Entertainment , Aryeequaye had not yet been assigned a specific portfolio under his new role at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts prior to the revocation.
Sources further indicate that Aryeequaye has since resigned from the Tourism Ministry.
Gideon Aryeequaye, a seasoned broadcaster, is widely recognised for his work at TV3 Ghana, where he served as a television news anchor. He also previously held the position of Head of News at E.TV Ghana and gained national prominence as host of the popular Ghana Most Beautiful programme on TV3.
Before his recent appointment, Aryeequaye served as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) from January 2014 to 2017, playing a notable role in advancing tourism initiatives across the country.
He is also an active member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and contested in the party’s parliamentary primaries for the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom constituency in 2012 but was unsuccessful.
