IMANI Africa President Franklin Cudjoe has launched a scathing critique of the former New Patriotic Party government, accusing it of eroding accountability and weakening the rule of law during its time in office.

According to Mr Cudjoe, the governance approach of the previous administration fostered an environment in which corruption flourished and accountability virtually collapsed.
“I will never forget that the last government sequestered rational, respectful freedom of speech and the rule of law from accountable governance,” he said in a post.
He directly linked those governance failures to the ongoing legal troubles surrounding former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
“That is a huge reason why Ken Ofori-Atta has become a high-profile absconder, a fugitive from the law,” Cudjoe added.
In sharp contrast, the IMANI Africa President praised the leadership style of President John Dramani Mahama, describing it as humane, humble and thoughtful.
“My health challenges haven’t stopped me from breathing the fresh air under the humane, humble, thoughtful and competent thought process of John Dramani Mahama,” he stated.
Mr Cudjoe also criticised loyalists of the former administration, accusing them of yearning for a return to power for selfish motives rather than national progress.
“Nana failed, miserably,” he declared. “Some followers are praying for things to end so their leaders can go back to pillaging.”
