The Government of Ghana has deported three Israelis who arrived in the country on December 10, 2025.
This is a retaliation for a similar act undertaken by the Israeli officials against some Ghanaians who were unjustifiably maltreated and deported from Israel.
In an earlier statement from the Foreign Affairs Ministry about the maltreatment, the Ministry noted that a seven-member Ghanaian delegation were detained on arrival in Israel on Sunday December 7, 2025 including four Members of Parliament who were attending the Annual International Cybersecurity Conference in Tel Aviv.
Out of the seven-member Ghanaian delegation detained for over five hours, it took “strenuous and diplomatic intervention” before they were released but three of them were placed on the next available flight to Ghana, thus deported.
On the back of this development, the Foreign Affairs Ministry summoned officials of the Israeli embassy in Ghana to explain the rationale behind the detention and deportation.
After a crunch meeting, both governments have agreed to resolve the matter amicably but that was before Ghana retaliated by deporting three Israeli’s who had also just landed in Ghana.
Ghana described the action by the Israeli authorities as “extremely provocative, unacceptable and inconsistent with our friendly historical relations” which is over six decades old.
